The biggest share holder of the car market reported an increase in the domestic sales for the month of February as compared to the same period last month. This increase of 0.4 percent was due to an increase of sales in the A2 and A3 segments.
In the A2 segment of Maruti which includes Alto, Zen Estilo, Swift and Wagon R has seen a growth of 2.7 percent. The company sold 44,059 units for these models.
The company sold 1,958 units of their sedan SX4 and Esteem which makes the A3 segment. This segment has grown by 8.9 percent from a year ago.
The company, in the A1 segment, which includes the entry-level hatch M800, saw a decline of 3.5 per cent. The sales reduced to 5,745 units as compared with 5,955 units in the same month last year, while sales in the C segment that consists of Omni and Versa dipped 9.9 per cent to 7,268 units. The SUV segment of Maruti which includes gypsy and Grand Vitara also saw a decline of sales to 281 units(21.9 percent)
