Toyota India unveils new Prius hybrid sedan at Auto Expo 2012

Toyota Kirloskar India in the midst of Auto Expo 2012 launched the new Toyota Prius hybrid sedan at a Delhi ex-showroom price of Rs. 27,39,000 to Rs. 29,41,000. The company is a joint venture between the Japanese auto major Toyota and India’s Kirloskar Group. In the new Prius hybrid sedan, the company has added to the existing battery technology a solar ventilation system. The car which was launched in India in 2010 has sold 150 units across the country.

Toyota has introduced the new hybrid car in India in order to shape and develop the market for advanced hybrid technology in India, says Mr. Shekar Viswanathan Toyota Kirlosakar Motor (TKM) Deputy Managing Director (Commercial).

The company has also launched a special seat named Easy Seat specifically designed for the Corolla Altis sedan for passengers with leg and knee problems with a price tag of Rs. Rs 29,979. The seat enables the passenger with better mobility than an ordinary seat with functions of swiveling and sliding and allows easier entry and exit from the vehicle.
