For some unknown reason Fiat India will not participate in the 2012 edition of the Delhi Auto Expo. This was the reason why the Italian manufacturer decided to unveil its 2012 Linea and Punto a day before the biggest auto event in Asia gets underway.
I would like to think that the reason they choose not to exhibit their cars in the expo is because they have nothing to show really, as they have no new entrants for the Indian market at this time.
Moving forward, the 2012 edition of the Fiat Linea and the Punto have got some pretty good changes. Firstly both cars will receive a higher ground clearance which is crucial for Indian roads. The new editions of the cars will also get wider wheels to help with stability and ground hold, while the alloy rims also have been increased in size in a few variants. The interior features have also been updated as now all models and variants will feature CD and MP3 players and automatic air conditioning as standard.
There will also be a host of new colours and technology features including safety features such as ABS with EBD and dual front airbags. The interior colour tone will also change from the matte black to a dual tone grey and black finish. Overall both models look pretty impressive, but its still a shame that the Italian will miss the Delhi Auto Expo and fail to grab the attention of us with their new and concept cars.
Looking to stand out. Go for the Italian beauties – Punto or Linea. They make you stand out in the mass.
