Toyota India posts 18.62 per cent decline in August 2014 sales

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota has posted a decline of 18.62 percent in its sales for the month of August 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 12,384 units in August 2014 in comparison to 15,219 units sold in the same month in 2013.

The domestic sales of the automaker stood at 11,215 units in August 2014 as compared to 12,007 units sold in August 2013, falling 6.59 percent. The carmaker also exported 1,169 units of the Etios car model in the month.

Mr. N Raja Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Toyota Kiroskar Motor commented that the company looks forward to increasing sales with the upcoming festival season with the newly launched car models such as the Corolla Altis premium sedan and the Etios Cross.
