Nissan India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has posted a sales growth of 60.3 percent in the month of August 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 3,999 units in the month in comparison to 2,494 units sold in the month of August 2013.
The carmaker also reported that its sales for the period April-August 2014 stood at 21,596 units as compared to 9,988 units sold in the same period in the fiscal 2013-14.
Nissan India has a manufacturing plant at Oragadam near Chennai which is shared with Renault India as part of its global alliance with the French auto giant.
As sales in the Indian automobile industry have taken an upturn, carmakers are witnessing significant month on month growth and expect things to get rosier with the upcoming festive season.
