Toyota India launches Camry Hybrid at Rs 29,75,000

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota has launched the new Camry Hybrid in the Indian car market at a price of Rs 29,75,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The newly launched car model is the first hybrid car to be manufactured locally in India at its Bidadi plant.

The new car will be manufactured at the carmaker’s second plant at Bidadi at a separate assembly line for the car model. India is the ninth country to house production of the Toyota hybrid cars.

The Camry Hybrid is equipped with a 2.5 petrol engine along with an electric motor which runs on ‘Hybrid Synergy Drive’. The hybrid technology has the ability to switch between the petrol engine and the electric motor and delivers a mileage of 19.16 kilometers per liter.

According to Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the launch of the Camry Hybrid car model is in line with the carmaker’s global philosophy to promote the use of hybrid vehicles.
