Amaze sedan by Honda India achieves the 30,000 sales mark

The newly launched Honda Amaze sedan by Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automaker Honda, has achieved the sales milestone of 30,000 units since its launch in the month of April 2013.

The automaker states the milestone to be the fastest achievement by any Honda car in the Indian car market. Riding on the back of the Amaze sedan sales, Honda’s first car model to offer a diesel option in India, the Japanese carmaker has posted an overall growth of 65 percent in the April – July period in 2013 over the sales performance in the same period in 2012.

Commenting on the company’s milestone, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Honda Cars India stated that the Honda Amaze sedan was developed especially for the evolving India after extensive surveys in terms of customer requirements and industry benchmarks.

Mr. Sen added that the Amaze is produced locally up to an extent of 90 percent which has enabled the carmaker to competitively price the new car model in the Indian auto market. Also, he stated that the introduction of a diesel option with the car model has helped the company reach out to a larger customer base in India.
