Tata Motors to launch 2 new car models in 2014

Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors is planning to launch two new car products for the Indian car market in 2014. The new launches by the carmaker will mark the end of three years since it launched a new product in the Indian auto market, the Aria crossover premium utility car model in January 2010.

According to Mr. Ranjit Yadav President (Passenger Vehicle Business Unit) Tata Motors, the Indian automaker will unveil a new hatchback and a compact sedan in the month of February 2013 at the Auto Expo, followed by a commercial launch in India. The new hatchback codenamed Falcon 4 will be sold alongside the existing Indica and Vista car models, while the new compact sedan codenamed Falcon 5 will be sold with the Indigo CS compact sedan.

Mr. Yadav added that the carmaker in not considering discontinuing the existing car models in the segments as the new products will be differentiated with new features and new driving dynamics. He further stated that Tata Motors plans to bring new car products every year with new designs and modified platforms till 2020. The new car models will be developed for the international markets and will be exported to global auto markets after being launched in India.
