Tata Motors launches Indigo Emax and Indica Emax CNG versions

Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors has expanded its CNG powered car portfolio with the launch of the new Tata Indigo Emax sedan and Tata Indica Emax hatchback in India. The new CNG variants have been launched in the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh.

The two new CNG variants for the Indigo and the Indica are powered by bi-fuel system options of CNG and petrol and are claimed to have a low carbon footprint of 0.251 g/km and 0.338 g/km, respectively. The fuel efficiency claimed by the carmaker for the Indigo Emax and the Indica Emax is 24.6 kilometers per kilogram and 23.7 kilometers per kilogram, repectively.

Mr. Ankush Arora Senior Vice President Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (Commercial) Tata Motors commented that the Indian automaker has launched the two new CNG variants in response to the increasing demand for CNG powered cars in the Indian car market.

The Indigo Emax compact sedan has an entry level price of Rs 4,99,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi) while the Indica Emax hatchback starts at Rs 3,99,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
