Skoda to bring Yeti facelift next year

Skoda has just announced the new Octavia for India, and trying to keep its brand alive in the country, they are also about to bring in some more products in the coming months, but what we really want to see is what they will do with their MPV as the market seems to be tipping in that segment’s favour. The Czech manufacturer has apparently just revealed the 2014 Yeti, which is not an entire new product launch, but is instead just a facelift, and a well needed one indeed.

For the first time ever, the Czech compact-SUV will be available in two variants: as the elegant and stylish Skoda Yeti for the town, and an adventurous off-road Skoda Yeti. Both design variations of the Skoda Yeti feature a new front and rear, new alloy wheels, fresh interiors, and the highest functionality and extended engine and transmission combinations. In addition, the Yeti will be the brand’s first model with Optical Parking Assistant, an optional rear-view camera. This is the first time that the Skoda Yeti will feature the latest generation of the automatic parking assistant. The new system enables the Yeti to automatically reverse and parallel park and even pull out.  The new Skoda Yeti features the automatic lock and start system ‘KESSY’ for the first time.

In Europe there will be a selection of 7 different engine variants, but for the Indian market we will likely get the 2.0 litre TDI with all wheel drive and we hope to also get the automatic transmission. There might be a smaller engine variant available so that Skoda can offer a lightly cheaper product to get some more market share and compete with the Duster, but we can’t confirm this.
