Rolls-Royce, the British luxury car brand wholly owned by the German automaker BMW Group is planning to launch a special India edition car model in 2013. The carmaker is in the process of consulting existing customers about the look and feel of the new upcoming vehicle.
According to Mr. Paul Harris Regional Director Asia Pacific Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the luxury automaker will take inspiration from the history of Rolls-Royce in India as well as the aspirations and needs of the Indian buyers in the process of designing the India edition.
The luxury brand is currently evaluating various insignia characteristics of India such as the peacock, the lotus and the Ashoka Chakra as well as landmarks such as the India Gate and the Gateway of India to be featured on the car.
The design for the Indian edition car model of Rolls-Royce will be finalized by April 2013 after which the company plans to commence production of the same.
