Renault-Nissan India target 10 percent of Indian car market share

Renault Nissan India, the Indian arm of the global alliance between Nissan and Renault is looking at capturing 10 percent of the Indian automobile market. While the years 2012 and 2013 have been favorable to neither Renault nor Nissan, the alliance expects the year 2014 to bring better news and enable better sales figures.

Apart from the hopes from the new year, Renault Nissan are also preparing to introduce new car models for the Indian auto market in order to revamp their car portfolio in India and expand their share.

Commenting on the subject, Mr. Carlos Ghosn Renault-Nissan Alliance Chief stated that the alliance is currently insignificant in the Indian market and targets 10 percent of it. He added that the carmakers will be launching many new car products in the year 2014.

Both companies witnessed a decline of about 9 percent in sales in the year 2013 due to the slowdown and low economic activity in the Indian car market.
