Renault India, the Indian subsidiary of the French automobile manufacturer Renault has opened a new dealership in the city of Bangalore. The new 5,000 square feet dealership takes the total count of shops in Bangalore to four and will be displaying the complete range of car models offered by the carmaker in India.
The opening of the new dealership is part of the automaker’s expansion strategy for its dealership network. According to Mr. Marc Nassif Managing Director Renault India, the carmaker’s products have found widespread acceptance in the Indian market.
The French automaker currently has 32 dealerships in the Southern part of India and a total of 118 dealerships across India. The carmaker targets 350 dealerships and 10 percent of the market share in India by the year 2016.
It has also resurrected the Datsun low cost auto brand in order to push sales in the small car volume segment in India. The Datsun brand is expected to see an India launch in the first half of the year 2014. Moreover, the automaker has plans to increase focus on rural and semi urban areas in India in order to leverage the 20 percent automobile sales that come from the rural areas.
