Nissan India showcased its multi utility vehicle (MUV) Evalia at the Auto Expo 2012 on the first day of the event. With the unveiling of this car, the company wishes to display the depth of the company’s global portfolio and influence customers with its innovative car models. Also, the company expects to make customers aware of Nissan’s future expansion and growth plans, says Mr. Gilles Normand Nissan Motor Corporate Vice President.
According to Mr. Normand, the company expects the Indian market to grow and plans to open up a second manufacturing unit at the Oragadam plant near Chennai. He added that the second manufacturing unit would create 1,500 jobs at the plant. Nissan is engaged in constant evaluation and re-evaluation of the Indian market and accordingly is shaping up its expansion plans and car launches in India.
