Maruti Suzuki India achieves a 27 percent growth in August 2014

Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India has witnessed a growth of 27 percent in its sales for the month of August 2014. The automaker sold a total of 1,10,776 lakh units in the month as compared to 87,323 units sold in August 2013.

Moreover, the sales for the month of August 2014 also saw an increment of 9 percent over the sales in the month of July 2014 at 1,01,000 units.

The domestic sales of the carmaker saw a growth of 29.3 percent selling 98,304 units in the month witnessing an increase across various car segments. The total passenger vehicle sales including compact cars and mini cars grew by 30.4 percent, out of which the compact cars including the Swift, the Celerio and the DZire contributed to 46,759 units, a growth of 53.2 percent. The mini car sales including the Alto and the WagonR were up by 8.3 percent selling 34,686 units.
