Nissan chalks out a new business plan for its growth

Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn on June 27th, 2011, laid out the company’s plan which aims for an eight percent growth for both global market share and profit margin in the next six years. The new midterm business plan known as Nissan Power 88 will focus on expanding the presence of the company’s V-Class vehicles in potential markets such as Brazil, India, Russia and China. The company also has plans to make its presence felt in the developing markets of South East Asia.

Nissan at present has V-Class production plants in Thailand, India, China and Mexico and will add another plant in Brazil by the end of 2011.

Mr. Ghosn has successfully led four growth plans for Nissan and recently commenting on Nissan’s new business plan at a news conference at Nissan’s headquarters in Yokohama stated, “This is the first time that Nissan is starting a (business) plan on the offensive instead of reconstructing something, or defending something.”
