Hyundai Motor India Limited which had launched the new Verna in May 2011, has already clocked over 20,000 bookings for the car pan India due to an overwhelming response from the customers.
Arvind Saxena, Director (Marketing and Sales) HMIL, commented on the success of the new Verna stating, “We are pleased to receive an overwhelming response for the new Verna from our customers. In order to cater the strong demand, we are trying to increase the production to help us reduce the waiting period and clear the backlog of bookings at the earliest.”
The new Verna is currently being offered at an introductory price of Rs. 6,99,000 – Rs. 10,74,500 (ex-Showroom, New Delhi) and comes loaded with a plethora of premium and futuristic design elements based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture Design Philosophy. The new Verna is available with four engine options – 1.4 litre VTVT delivering 107PS at 6300rpm of maximum power and 13.8Kgm at 500rpm of peak torque, the petrol 1.6 litre VTVT engine with 123PSat 6300rpm maximum power and 15.8kgm at 4200rpm of peak torque, the Common Rail diesel 1.4 litre CRDi with 90PS at 4000rpm max power and 22.43kgm at 1750-2750rpm of peak torque and the diesel 1.6 litre VGT CRDi, with range topping 128PS at 4000rpm max power and 26.5kgm at1900-2750rpm of peak torque.
The new Verna 1.6 litre engine (for both diesel and petrol variants) is coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission. The 1.4 litre petrol and diesel engines give a mileage of 17.43 kmpl and 23.5 kmpl respectively.
