Mercedes Benz India posts 27.12 percent sales growth in 1st quarter 2014

Mercedes Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz has reported a 27.12 percent growth in its sales for the 1st quarter of 2014, from January 2014 to March 2014.

The German luxury carmaker sold a total of 2,554 units in the January – March 2014 quarter in comparison to 2,009 units sold in the same period in 2013. Mr. Eberhard Kern Managing Director and CEO Mercedes-Benz India stated that the carmaker has achieved the growth despite challenging market conditions.

Mr. Kern added that the luxury automaker has been focusing its efforts to improve its after sales service and brand experience for the customers with the aim of driving sustainable growth in India. He further added that the carmaker has been witnessing an increment in demand for its car models such as the S-Class, the ML-Class and the GL-Class which are produced locally in India and are currently waitlisted.

The current volume selling car models for the automaker are the C-Class and the new E -Class.
