Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has posted a decline of 0.5 percent in its sales for the month of March 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 51,636 units in March 2014 in comparison to 51,904 units sold in the same month in 2013.
The passenger car segment of the carmaker including the utility vehicles and the Verito compact sedan sold a total of 23,433 units in March 2014 in comparison to 25,847 units sold in the same month in 2013. The commercial vehicle segment of the carmaker posted sales of 17,649 units in the month in comparison to 17,212 units sold in March 2013, a growth of 3 percent.
The domestic sales of the automaker for the month of March 2014 stood at 48,490 units as against 49,225 units sold in March 2013, a decline of 1 percent in sales.
The carmaker however witnessed a growth of 17 percent in its export operations with 3,146 units shipped in the month as compared with 2,679 units exported in March 2013.
The Indian automaker posted a decline of 10 percent in its total sales of 5,07,176 units in the fiscal 2013-14 in comparison to 5,63,373 units sold in the fiscal 2012-13.
