Maruti Suzuki posts a 10 percent decline in sales in November 2013

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer has announced a 10.7 percent decline in its sales for the month of January 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 92,140 units in November 2014 in comparison to 1,03,200 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The domestic sales of the carmaker amounted to 85,510 units, down by 5.9 percent from 90,882 units sold in November 2012. While the mini car segment of the carmaker which includes car models such as the M800, the Alto, the A-Star and the WagonR grew by 3.7 percent.

The compact car segment of the carmaker including the Swift hatchback, the Ritz hatchback and the Estilo hatchback has witnessed a decline in sales of 24 percent in the month of November 2013. The compact sedan segment comprising of the DZire compact sedan saw an increase in sales by 13.2 percent. The exports of the carmaker also suffered and declined by 46.2 percent in the month of November 2013.
