Mahindra Two Wheelers, a part of Mahindra Group has launched a Hindi version of the mobile site created for the new Mahindra Pantera motorcycle. The company has launched the website to provide comprehensive information about the new motorcycle.
The company claims to have identified the mobile phone to be the most relevant media digital medium for mass reach in India and is looking to gauge the wide mobile internet presence in rural India.
A June 2012 study by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) states that there are 32.3 crore mobile users in rural India out which 36,00,000 are active users of internet. Moreover, 32 percent users of this number access the internet in the Hindi language.
Relying on this information, Mahindra Two Wheelers has launched a Hindi WAP site to engage the rural two wheeler buyers in India with information about the Pantero motorcycle. According to Mr. Viren Popli Executive Vice President (Strategy and Market Development) Mahindra Two Wheelers, using the Hindi language for a mobile website will play a significant role in the spreading the campaign.
