Hyundai India witnesses 4.3 percent increase in sales in April 2013

Hyundai India, the Indian arm of the South Korean automaker Hyundai has posted an increase of 4.3 percent in its sales for the month of April 2013. The second largest carmaker and the largest car exporter from India sold a total of 56,954 units in the month in comparison to 54,606 units sold in the same month in 2012.

In terms of its domestic sales in the Indian car market, the South Korean automobile manufacturer witnessed a decline of 7.6 percent selling 32,403 units in the month against 35,070 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The carmaker’s exports jumped 25.67 percent in the month of April 2013 selling 24,551 units compared with 19,536 units exported in the same month in 2012. Mr. Rakesh Srivastava Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Hyundai India attributes the growth in exports to the increase in the demand from non-European markets.
