Honda India records 19.97 percent increment in sales in April 2013

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has posted an increase of 19.97 percent in its sales for the month of April 2013. The domestic sales of the automaker stood at 8,488 units for the month in comparison to 7,075 units sold in the same month in 2012.

The growth in sales in the month is being attributed to the launch of the new Amaze sedan by the Japanese automaker in the month of April 2013. The new sedan accounted for 4,852 units of sales in the month.

Apart from the Amaze sedan which is also Honda’s first diesel car model in India, the City sedan sold 1,917 units in the month, followed by the Brio small car with 1,628 units. The exports of the carmaker stood at 182 units in the month of April 2013.

According to Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice President Honda Cars India, the company is expecting the launch of Amaze to drive higher growth in the 2013-14 fiscal.
