Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda’s Indian arm Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) will get a new identity for its business in India by the end of September 2012. The change in identity follows the separation of Usha International from Honda Siel Cars India after Honda bought its stake of 3.16 percent making HSCI a 100 percent subsidiary of Honda.
According to Mr. Raman Kumar Sharma Senior Vice President and Director HSCI, the company has already applied for a name change and the change will be implemented by the end of September 2012. He added that the company would not be bringing about any structural changes in the organization.
Mr. Sharma stated that the name Honda will be included in the new identity of the Indian subsidiary while the two-wheeler business and the car business will continue to function under separate companies.
The Japanese automaker sold 29,932 units in the April to August 2012 period in comparison to 19,433 units in the same period in 2011, an increment of 54 percent.
