Honda Cars India sales grow 75 percent in June 2014

Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has recorded a sales growth of 75 percent in the month of June 2014. The automaker sold a total of 16,316 units in the domestic market in June 2014 as compared to 9,297 units sold in the same month in 2014.

The sales growth of the carmaker was led by the City premium sedan with 7,723 units followed by the Amaze compact sedan with 7,075 units. The Brio hatchback by the automaker sold 1,438 units in the month while the CR-V sports utility vehicle sold 80 units in June 2014. The automaker also exported a total of 739 units in the month of June 2014.

The Japanese automaker has witnessed a significant growth in sales with the introduction of the diesel engines across its portfolio in India in the car models Amaze and the new City.
