Hyundai India posts 9.5 percent sales increment in June 2014

Hyundai India, the largest car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India has posted a sales growth of 9.5 percent in the month of June 2014.

The Korean automobile manufacturer sold a total of 33,514 units in the month of June 2014. The carmaker however witnessed a decline of 29.3 percent in its exports for the month.

The growth in sales of the automaker is attributable to the introduction of new car models such as the Xcent compact sedan, the Grand i10 hatchback and the Santa Fe sports utility vehicle, stated Mr. Rakesh Srivastava Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Hyundai Motor India.

Mr. Srivastava further added that the carmaker hopes to maintain volume growth and improve channel efficiencies banking on the extension of the excise duty by the Indian government which is expected to improve consumer buying sentiments.
