Volvo India to bring down V40 Cross Country waiting period

Volvo Auto India, the Indian subsidiary of the Swedish luxury car manufacturer Volvo is planning to reduce the waiting period for the new V40 Cross Country. The new hatchback car model was launched by the automaker in the month of June 2013.

Mr. Tomas Ernberg Managing Director Volvo Auto India stated that the car manufacturer is currently in the process of bringing down the waiting period for the V40. He further claimed that the new hatchback has become a segment leader in many global auto markets. The carmaker expects similar success from the new car model in the Indian car market enabling it to expand its presence and market share.

Commenting on the sales plans and targets of the automaker, Mr. Ernberg stated that a target of selling 20,000 cars annually by the year 2020 has been set by the company which would enable it with a market share of 15 percent in the luxury car segment. The sales expectations for the current year have been set at 1,000 cars.

The Swedish carmaker has also commenced the deliveries of the new S60 sedan and the XC60 sports utility vehicle upgraded with new diesel engines, priced at Rs 31,00,000 (Ex-showroom) and Rs 42,50,000 (Ex-showroom) respectively.
