Volkswagen to race in F1

The rumors have been spreading for many years now about a speculated Volkswagen entry into the world of Formula 1 racing. One of the largest car manufacturers in the world, Volkswagen has on many occasions hinted at a F1 team, but we have even up until now not received any official confirmation.  However speculation is amidst us once again as Sauber owner, Peter Sauber has confirmed that he had met with Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn at the Geneva Motor Show this year to discuss the future of motorsport for both the companies. According to leading European sources, Volkswagen is looking to partner with Sauber and on a long term plan it is also looking to develop its own chassis to be designed at Porsche Motorsport Centre. This brings further speculation that Porsche might team up with another team to enter F1, and this could very well be some very exciting news. All these speculative claims point towards a 2015 entry for Volkswagen into the world of Formula 1, and here is another twist in the tale. It seems that the newly appointed head of motorsports for Volkswagen was indeed the COO at Sauber for the last 5 years. Coincidence, or is something really brewing???
