For years now TVS has been rather quiet and they haven’t kept up with the market in terms of new product launches. While they still do sell their current products in large numbers, they haven’t managed to tap into the high capacity segments such as the 150cc and 20occ category. We already know that their Apache is a very good product and does have a great fan following, but these customers were hoping that TVS would launch a bigger variant. Now, after a long wait, TVS has finally brought something to the table that will look to compete with the premium sports motorcycle in India. The Apache RTR 200 4V has just been launched in the Indian market.
The bike has been completely redesigned but it does follow the design philosophy of the original Apache. The fuel tank is bigger and so are the overall dimensions. There is also a new instrument cluster, larger wheels, and a split seat as well as clip-on handlebars that make the bike look very sporty and aggressive. The bike also gets a brand new 198cc engine and it can produce 20bhp and 19Nm of torque, which is quite good. There are some other added tech features in the engine which improve performance and improve efficiency. All the colour options of the bike are also have a matte finish so the quality of the bike looks very good. The price of the new Apache RTR 200 4V starts at Rs 89,000, and the bike will compete with the KTM Duke 200.
