Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota has launched the upgraded version of the Camry premium sedan in India with an entry price tag of Rs 23,80,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The new seventh generation Camry powered by a 2.5 liter petrol engine equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission will be assembled at the company’s facility at Bangalore. The premium car will compete with the likes of the Honda Accord, the Volkswagen Passat and the Skoda Superb.
According to Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa Managing Director Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), the premium sedan will be manufactured locally so as to enable easier availability of the car model in the Indian auto market. The Bangalore facility of the company will become the 11th location in the world to be manufacturing the Camry sedan.
Mr. Sandeep Singh Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) TKM states that the sedan is available only in a petrol version as all other premium products of the company globally.
