Toyota India sales decline in July 2013

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the joint venture between the Japanese automaker Toyota and the Indian company Kirloskar Group has witnessed a decline its sales for the month of July 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 14,470 units in the month in comparison to 16,062 units sold in July 2012.

The domestic sales of the automaker in July 2013 stood at 11,515 units against 14,575 units sold in the same month in 2012. The carmaker exported a total of 2,955 units of the Etios car range in July 2013.

Commenting on the sales performance, Mr. Sandeep Singh Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (Marketing and Commercial) Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated that the Indian car market continues to be sluggish and the current market outlook suggests tougher times ahead.
