Tata Motors reported a total sale of 40,729 vehicles (including exports) for the month of July 2008, a decline of 3 per cent compared to 42,098 vehicles sold in July last year.
The total sales of passenger vehicles were 14,652 nos. in the domestic market in July 2008, a decline of 13.9 per cent over July 2007. The Indica reported sales of 7,525 nos., a decline of 32 per cent over July 2007. The Indigo family recorded sales of 4,487 nos., a 73 per cent growth over July 2007. The Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 2,640 nos., a 20.6 per cent decline compared to July 2007.
The sales of the commercial vehicles segment in July in the domestic market stood at 22,381 units, compared to 20,705 units sold in the same month last year, up 8 per cent.
The exports stood at 3,696 vehicles in July 2008 declined by 16 per cent compared to 4,382 vehicles in July 2007.
