Tata Motors to roll out Nano CNG in October 2013

Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has announced its plans to launch the CNG version of the smallest car in the Indian car market, the Tata Nano in the month of October 2013. The much hyped CNG version of the small car has been making news amid rumors of delay in launch by the carmaker.

The new CNG version the Nano has been named the Tata Nano emax CNG which also features certain cosmetic upgrades in addition to fuel specifications. According to Tata Motors, the automaker has attempted to make the Nano greener by reducing its CO2 emission to 75 kilograms per gram of CNG. The new Nano emax also features an automatic CNG cut-off system in addition to a fuel quality checking system.

The Tata emax offers a mileage of 36 kilometers per kilograms of CNG and is equipped with a fuel tank capacity of 32 liter. The 624cc petrol engine combined with a CNG motor is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
