Indian car maker Tata Motors posted total sales of 51,184 vehicles in the month of March 2014. The domestic sales of the carmaker stood at 45,996 units including both commercial and passenger vehicles, while the exports accounted for sales of 5,188 units.
The passenger vehicles accounted for 12,640 unit sales for the carmaker in the month of March 2014. Sales in the small and compact car segment including the Nano, the Indica and the Indigo range of cars stood at 9,761 units in the month. The sports utility segment which consists of the Sumo, the Safari, the Aria and the Venture sold a total of 2,879 units in March 2014.
The automaker sold a total of 33,356 commercial vehicles in the domestic market which included sales of light commercial vehicles at 20,938 units and medium & heavy commercial vehicles at 12,418 units.
The cumulative sales of the carmaker including exports in the fiscal 2013-14 were 5,66,695 units.
