Indian car maker, Tata Motors Ltd is planning to launch an electric car and other fuel-efficient vehicles. It will start selling the world’s cheapest car, Nano in October this year. The company is also planning to expand its presence in the defense equipment business.
Amidst the rising oil prices and concerns of environment pollution, vehicle makers the world over are shifting to fuel-efficient and greener electric models and Tata will also go the green way.
Tata is working with a Norway-based company to produce an electric car. The new car is expected to hit the Indian roads this financial year although the possible price of the car is unknown.
