Indian carmaker Tata Motors has recorded a 6.7 percent increase in its passenger car sales for the month of February 2014. The carmaker sold a total of 11,325 units in the month compared with the 10,613 units sold in February 2013.
The increment in passenger sales in the month is a first for the carmaker in 18 months of slowdown and decline in sales. Sales in the utility car segment of the company including the Aria, the Safari, the Sumo and the Venture however declined by 5 percent.
The commercial vehicles sales of the carmaker also witnessed a severe decline of 49 percent in the month of February 2014.
The exports of the carmaker increased by 16.01 percent with sales of 4,636 units in the month in comparison to 3,996 units sold in the same month in 2013.
