Students break EV World Record

While the top automotive brands battle it out and join teams to see who can make the best Electric vehicles in the world, a group of Dutch students seem to have come up with an ingenious EV. This group of students has managed to break the electric vehicle acceleration record by taking their creation from 0-100kmph in just 2.15 seconds – that is faster than a Bugatti Veyron and an Aerial Atom. The EV was created at Delft University of Technology and comes features wheel-mounted electric motors that provide a combined output of 135bhp. But it is also important to notice that the car only weighs145kg, which is much smaller than any proper production car. The car was also driven by a very small – lets say tiny – driver. This also goes to show how important weight reduction technology is when it comes to trying to improve vehicle performance. Nonetheless this is a great achievement for the students of the tiny European nation.
