Renault is planning to introduce the small car ‘Pulse’ in the next three months and will be unveiling the car on October 29, 2011. The company plans to introduce the V-platform model at the Auto Expo in January, 2012, stated Mr. Sudhir Rao, Renault’s Deputy Managing Director.
Though Mr. Rao did not divulge all the details, he told the Business Standard that the new car will be positioned between the Maruti Swift and the Nissan Micra. According to the sources familiar with the development, the small car is being tested at the Renault-Nissan’s factory at Oragadam, Chennai.
The company also has on cards launch of three more vehicles in 2012, including a high-end sports utility vehicle and a lower-cost hatchback. As the company has set a target for itself to launch five products by 2013, the company is also planning to increase its dealership network from 15 at present to about 100. According on Mr. Rao, Renault is presently concentrating only at the domestic market and not at the exports.
