Renault Kwid gets 1.0 litre engine

Renault is all set to launch the more powerful Kwid 1.0 in the Indian market. The Kwid 1.0 will come fitted with a 999cc engine, albeit only with a five-speed manual gearbox. AMT will be added to the range at a later stage. The 999cc engine powering the Kwid 1.0 is a 3-cylinder petrol unit that develops 67bhp along with a peak-torque of 91Nm. This engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 23kmpl. The smaller capacity Kwid with 800cc motor has a claimed fuel economy of 25kmpl. Renault will offer the Kwid 1.0 only in the top two trim levels – RXT and RXT (Option).
