Renault India to enter the small car space

Renault India, the Indian arm of the French automobile manufacturer Renault is prepared to launch a new small car model in the Indian car market. The new small car will be the second product by the automaker after the Pulse hatchback, aimed to grab a share of the volume selling highly competitive segment of the industry.

The new car which is expected to be launched by mid 2015 will to be priced below Rs 4,00,000. According to Mr. Sumit Sawhney Managing Director and Chief Executive Renault India, the carmaker is also in the process of expanding its dealership network from 125 to 170 by December 2014.

The automaker expects the new car model to power volume growth and double its market share in Indian auto industry to 5 percent.
