Porsche India posts sales of 117 cars in October 2012

Porsche India, the official Indian importer of the Porsche Brand of luxury sport cars owned by the German automaker Volkswagen has posted sales of 117 cars in the month of October 2012. The sales number is a record breaking kick-start for the importer.

The importer started in operations in India in the month of October 2012. The company takes over from the former imported Precision Cars India.

Along with its new operations in India, the company also launched the new seventh generation 911 Carrera sports car as well as the new Boxter S in the Indian market. The Carrera Coupe has been launched with a price tag of Rs 1.14 crore (Ex-showroom Delhi) while the Boxter S is available at a price of Rs 81,72,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).

The new seventh generation Carrera 911, powered by a 6-cylinder 3.8 litre engine is the world’s first 7-speed transmission car with both manual and automatic options.

The company expects the new car launches to boost its sales in the Indian luxury sports car market.
