Nissan Motor India, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese company Nissan has decided to launch its much talked about Evalia MPV in the month of September 2012. The car model is likely to compete with the likes of the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo and is expected to be priced between Rs 8,00,000 to Rs 10,00,000. The MPV will be produced at the company’s facility in Chennai.
With the introduction of the Evalia, the company will be entering the MPV or the people mover segment for the first time as the car is expected to be a 7 seater. The Evalia also features a sliding door at the rear instead of the swivel doors as available in other MUVs by other automakers.
The Evalia MPV will be powered by a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine which also powers the Nissan Sunny sedan diesel version.
