Nissan India records two-fold increase in sales in July 2012

Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan’s Indian arm has registered a two-fold increase in its sales in the Indian auto market for the month of July 2012. The company sold 3,481 units in the month in comparison to 1,593 units sold in the same month in 2011.

The sales were led by the mid-size sedan Sunny which sold 2,436 units followed by the Micra hatchback with 1,028 units. The X-Trail sports utility vehicle, the Teana premium sedan and the 370Z sports car contributed to the remaining share of sales for the month.

The company expects to further expand its presence in the Indian auto market with the launch of the Evalia which will be launched in the later part of 2012, stated Mr. Ishida Takayuki Managing Director Nissan Motor India. He added that the launch will help the company establish itself as a dominant player in the Indian auto industry.
