Nissan India records a 141 percent growth in May 2014 sales

Nissan India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has witnessed a growth of 141 percent in its sales of the month of May 2014. The automaker sold a total of 5,021 vehicles in the month as compared to 2,080 vehicles sold in the same month in 2013.

The largest contributor to the sales growth for the month was the newly launched Datsun GO hatchback with sales of about 2,000 units during the month of May 2014.

Speaking about the sales growth, Mr. Kenichiro Yomura President Nissan Group of India stated that while the sales performance has been encouraging, the automaker is also in the process of expanding its dealer network and service reach in India along with enhancement of after-sales operations.

Mr. Yomura added that Terrano sports utility vehicle and the Datsun GO hatchback are the performance drivers for the carmaker.
