Nissan India, the Indian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has posted a sales growth of 28.64 percent. The carmaker sold a total of 5,182 units in comparison to 4,028 units sold in the same month in 2013.
Commenting about the growth in sales, Mr. Richard Spitzer Acting Chief Operating Officer (Nissan’s National Sales Company) Hover Automotive India stated that the newly launched Terrano compact sports utility vehicle has helped the carmaker boost sales and strengthening the sales performance since its launch in the month of October 2013.
The Terrano is the automaker’s fourth locally produced car in India apart from the Sunny sedan, the Micra range of cars and the multi-purpose vehicle Evalia. All these car models are locally produced at the carmaker’s Oragadams’ facility near Chennai.
Mr. Spitzer added that the automaker expects to increase this sales momentum with additional support from new cars such as the Sunny sedan.
