New Audi A6 to hit Indian roads in September 2011

A new model of the Audi A6 is set to be launched in India in the month of September 2011. The sedan will be equipped with a 2.0 TDI turbo diesel engine which would give an output of 180 PS and will be 80 kilograms lighter than the old Audi A6. A petrol engine will also be offered in the options of 2.8 FSI and 3.0 supercharged TFSI. A variant with Quattro, i.e., a four wheel drive system, will also be available. The price for the new A6 will be approximately around Rs. 40,00,000.

A number of features in the New Audi A6 have been taken from its predecessor Audi A8, amongst which are a seven-speed dual clutch and an engine stop and start button. Significant changes have been made in the handling and performance of the car. It also includes numerous safety features such as Active Lane Change assist, adaptive cruise control, six air bags and night vision. The production of the car has already started at Audi’s Aurangabad facility which also manufactures the Audi A4 and Q5 SUV.
