Mercedes Benz regains the top position in Indian luxury car segment

Mercedes Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz has regained the top position in the Indian luxury car segment in the month of July 2013. The automaker has reclaimed its position after three years racing past other luxury automakers such as Audi and BMW.

The automaker sold a total of 810 units in the month of July 2013 to become the leader of the luxury car segment in India, ahead of Audi with 705 units and BMW in the third spot. The sales of Mercedes Benz have increased by 53 percent in the month of July to accomplish the winning sales figures.

The increment in sales is being attributed to new product launches such as that of the compact car models A-Class and the B-Class. According to Mr. Eberhard Kern MD Mercedes-Benz India, the carmaker will continue to launch new products in the Indian luxury car market in order to sustain the leadership.

The new products to be launched by the carmaker include a new entry level sedan and a new compact SUV.
