Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of the German luxury auto manufacturer Mercedes-Benz celebrated the milestone of 50,000 cars in India by rolling out the new C-Class Grand edition at the Chakan plant. The new edition of luxury car model has been priced at Rs 36,81,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the petrol variant and Rs 39,16,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the diesel variant.
The German automaker is the only luxury carmaker to achieve the milestone of 50,000 cars in India. The automaker was able to produce 20,000 cars in 36 months and attributed the feat to its world class production facility to have enabled the reduced time frame for production. The C-Class car model is the carmaker’s key volume product in India.
The C-Class Grand edition is equipped with navigation as part of the infotainment system, Intelligent Light System with Bi-Xenon headlamps and Pre-SAFE in addition to AMG body styling.
Mr. Eberhard Kern MD Mercedes Benz India stated that the company plans to make an investment of Rs 850 crore in India in line with its expansion strategy and plans.
