Mercedes-Benz India targets 10,000 unit sales by 2014 end

Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian arm of the German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes Benz has set a target of achieving the 10,000 unit sales mark by the end of the year 2014.

The carmaker has already sold a total of 7,529 units in the January – September 2014 period in comparison to 6,461 units sold in the same period in 2013, increasing 16 percent year on year. The month of September 2014 has witnessed the highest sales for the month ever.

Meanwhile, rival luxury brand Audi had already achieved the 10,000 mark in 2013 with the sales of 10,002 units, thus becoming the first luxury car maker to cross the mark in India. Mercedes Benz follows the tally with 9,003 units in 2013 while BMW India stands at 7,745 units in 2013.
