Mercedes-Benz India, the India subsidiary of the German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz has posted a growth of 31.62 percent in its sales in the year 2013. The carmaker sold a total of 9,003 units in the year in comparison to 6,840 units sold in the year 2012.
As stated earlier by the luxury carmaker, the year 2013 was the ‘Year of Offensive’ for Mercedes Benz where it came up with new car mode launches such as the A Class, the E Class and the new sports utility vehicle portfolio. According to Mr. Eberhard Kern Managing Director and CEO Mercedes-Benz India, the new car models witnessed robust demand despite challenging economic conditions in the Indian auto market.
The automaker launched a total of 8 new car models in different categories in order to create its presence across various segments in the luxury car segment. The luxury car manufacturer also added a total of 9 new outlets as part of its expansion strategy.
